People who say that the English dub of Metro 2033 is swimming in shitty Russian accents are fools. The English dub of Metro 2033 was performed by native Russian speakers.

The first thing I noticed In Metro 2033 was the fucking awful English voice-acting. It’s truly truly terrible and should always be played with russian VO.

The thing about Metro, and games like Assassin’s Creed or Ninja Gaiden for example, is that the game is much better in it’s native language with English subtitles. Assassin’s Creed in Italian with Eng. subs/ Ninja Gaiden in Japanese with Eng. subs, etc.

I personally liked the voice acting of Metro 2033. It made it seem as if it was just an average joe who was put through everything. Instead of the grizzled veteran the Russian voice portrayed.

Not really. The Mass Effect series definitely has some flaws ranging from minor to major, but voice acting and writing are definitely stellar in the second two games, and pretty damn good in the first.

The voice acting and writing was great in 1 and 2, but seriously, the writing lost all punch at the third, and the ending i really dont care about (even though it did kinda suck) Im talking about how just SUDDENLY (with noone believing shepard) they find a superweapon to destroy the reapers right when they attack earth. This would have been fine if it were forshadowed but it wasent even an idea in the first 2 plots. A complete deus ex machina.

Funny story – russian version of Devil May Cry 4 voice acting was awesome. And russian voice acting in first Mass Effect was so bad, they did not made full voice translation in ME 2 or 3, just subtitles… For the best.

when I played Metro I’ve never noticed bad voice acting because I got used to the main character’s voice, only after hearing it speaking russian for the first time in this video I now see what huge difference it is and Mass Effect I felt awkward sometimes because on line I was speaking normally and suddenly I shout at people but that’s not a problem of writing or voice acting - that’s a problem of execution and being limited by space (I mean hardware space)

So because I think a voice actor in Portal 2 has done a good job, I’m suddenly “the enemy” called the “portal community”, what kind of nonsense is that? “Not going to waste my time explaining” sounds like an excuse of not having a valid reason in the first place.
