Three Ways You Can be more ECO Friendly with your BEAUTY ROUTINE

Perfect for Earth Day! Here’s how you can do your part in being more environmentally friendly with your makeup & beauty routine!

THREE WAYS TO ECO GREEN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE!
LESS IS MORE, USE LESS AND MAKE IT LAST!
- Be package concious of what your buying. Buy the larger product (if available)
- Don’t over use makeup wipes when there is a good old washcloth, which can work just as better!
- Use every last bit of a product. If that means you have to cut the sampoo bottle then do so! You could have several more days that you can use. Try using a lipbrush to get every ounce of lipstick you can when it’s coming down to the wire.
- Buy products that have multiple uses. For example, a body wash and shaving lotion (OLAY RIBBONS) or for make-up something that you can use on the lips, cheeks and eyelids!
- Don’t ditch your broken palette, fix it!
Purchase organic and all-natural mineral products.
- You don’t have to go to a special store to purchase organic cosmetics. Victoria’s Secret carries a new organic line called “natural” and Lush can be found in almost any mall.
- Support environmental causes with your purchasing power. Celebrities Erykah Badu have designed the product’s labels, and 100 percent of proceeds up to $100,000 go to Waterkeeper.
DYI, MAKE YOUR OWN NATURAL PRODUCTS
- Rubbing pineapple grinds on your face, can have anti-ageing effects. The acids in the rind can help slough dead cells and brighten skin
- When you’re done with a teabag of green tea, save it to use on your eyes when they are a little puffy.
- Vinegar, the most versatile of household products, can be used to: stretch your nail polish out, clean your scalp, soften your hands, control breakouts and soothe your sunburn.
- For dry, damaged hair, mix olive oil with some banana, avocado or berries, and put the mixture in your hair. Wrap it in a towel, let it sit 30 minutes, and rinse.
